MICHAEL P. UPSHAW (Of Counsel to the Firm) was admitted to practice law in the State of Arizona and the United States District Court for the District of Arizona in 1983.  He has also been admitted to practice before the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and the United States Supreme Court.  Since that time Mr. Upshaw has been in private practice representing various clients in construction law, Federal Indian Law and civil litigation matters.  Mr. Upshaw was the Attorney General of the Navajo Nation for approximately two years overseeing a staff of more than twenty attorneys engaged in providing governmental legal services. Mr. Upshaw has also acted in capacities of General Counsel and Special Counsel to other Indian Nations in Arizona in the areas of government services, federal land exchanges, economic development and gaming matters.
